Seasonal Allergies vs. COVID Symptoms
During allergy season it’s important to be aware of the specific differences between season allergy symptoms and COVID. The chart from the CDC above helps identify the differences and similarities between the two.
If the chart is difficult to read, a summary follows.
Symptoms more common of COVID-19 (the left circle only, in blue):
- Fever and chills
- Muscle and body aches
- New loss of taste or smell
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
Symptoms common of both (overlap area of both circles):
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Headache
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
Symptoms more common of seasonal allergies (the right circle only, in orange):
- Itchy or watery eyes
- Sneezing
